The author is my uncle and I am Reva's daughter. It has taken me awhile to figure out just how to review this book, so here goes. Attitude is everything. I had no idea I was raised poor because we had no one mentioned it in our house. Also, cousins take note, I was grandma and grandpa's favorite. After talking with my cousins, we all felt that way and none of us ever heard either grandparent consider a harsh word to each other or to anyone else. The book reminded me of just how much my grandma missed about Bethel church and all her friends. It must have been a heartache to have to leave the farm. Today, we feed everyone as you can't learn on an empty stomach. My uncle and mom went to school many days with no breakfast, just a desire to improve themselves and learn. A funny story. After my grandparents moved to Trenton and started their orchards they had a beautiful bush in front called "Rose of Sharon". I was crushed as they had a bush named for my cousin. Those were the days. You did a wonderful job Uncle Ray. Thank you for putting my heritage down on paper. Hugs to you and Janice.Product details

Raymond's book is very informative and inspirational. I would recommend this life story told by this remarkable man.
Anyone who ever knew Mr. Hagan should buy his book! Not only does it provide great insight, but anyone that grew up on a Missouri farm can relate to his experiences and those of our ancestors.
